Bitget And Avalanche Join Forces To Drive Web3 Education And Innovation In India

Bitget, the Seychelles-based crypto exchange platform, has formed a strategic alliance with Avalanche, a decentralised open-source blockchain platform, to jumpstart grassroots Web3 adoption in India.

Bitget announced this new development on 28 April 2025, following various ventures by both companies to expand crypto and its use cases. Avalanche previously collaborated with Indian government agencies, including projects involving welfare programs and mini-grants. Furthermore, Avalanche has launched several decentralised applications and has a growing ecosystem that can be used to expand Web3 adoption in India.

Bitget is not new to such initiatives, as the company has in the past launched Blockchain4Youth, an initiative that has pledged $10 million in scholarship, workshop, and hackathon support over a five-year period.

Currently, Bitget is in discussion with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) to secure its registration for operating in the country. Meanwhile, Avalanche is helping state governments in India further integrate blockchain into their processes by transitioning public records to blockchain networks.

Head of Bitget South Asia, Jyotsna Hridyani, said, “Empowering users with the right knowledge is essential to unlocking the full potential of blockchain in India’s digital future.”

Echoing the sentiment, Devika Mittal, regional head of Ava Labs said, “Our goal with events is to provide a space to any web3 enthusiast – whether in Delhi or Varanasi, or anywhere else – to connect and build.”

Both companies see India as an important destination to expand and build on their Web3 expertise and have plans to collaborate through 2025.

Through their collaboration, both companies aim to roll out a series of awareness and educational workshops throughout 2025, branded as the “HODL ON” tour. These efforts are designed to train and educate the Indian public with essential knowledge on crypto safety and the potential of blockchain technology.

Furthermore, the tours will serve as a springboard for Indian Web3 startups and will offer them a platform to present their innovations along with options to further explore funding opportunities.

Two successful community meetings have already been held in Delhi and Bengaluru as an initial phase of this outreach. Bitget and Avalanche are confident that with the right support, Indian tech talent can drive the development of Web3 applications.

India is on track to become the world’s leading hub for Web3 developers. As per projections by India’s Web3 Landscape Report (2024) by Hashed Emergent, the country can potentially surpass the United States by 2028.

The report highlighted a 28% growth in India’s Web3 developer community in 2024, with over 4.7 million developers contributing to platforms like GitHub.
