AI agents can now launch a memecoin in seconds, and none of them has to answer for what happens next. MemeToro, an open-source memecoin launchpad on BNB Chain, is designing its AI agent to be checked by anyone, not trusted on faith.
Summary
- AI agents already create tokens at scale, but a bot has no name, record or recourse if a launch goes wrong.
- Agent identity standards are arriving on the BNB Chain, though early data shows many agents with little activity.
- MemeToro’s design has its agent propose, publish its reasoning, and leave the money to a public contract.
- The launch contracts are in testnet testing and the AI agent page is marked coming soon. The $MT presale is at Stage 9, $0.00649.
Automated token creation is not new. Clanker, an AI token launcher on Base, has generated more than $92 million in cumulative fees, according to DefiLlama, with a peak of $22.4 million in February alone. The model works because launching costs almost nothing, but it also fades fast: fees over the past 30 days were about $1.35 million. It also means the party deciding what to launch is software, with no team to question and no history to read.

This is the gap MemeToro’s launchpad is built around. Its agent scans social media, online communities and the news for narratives gaining traction, then proposes a concept. The difference is the paper trail: every proposal is meant to carry the agent’s written reasoning, so a buyer can read why a coin exists before deciding anything.

Identity is arriving, and it is early
The industry is working on the accountability problem. BNB Chain announced support for ERC-8004 in February, a standard that gives an autonomous agent a verifiable on-chain identity it can carry between platforms. The 8004scan explorer now lists more than 270,000 agents registered on BNB Chain, over 61% of the 544,000-plus indexed across networks, with about 11,700 reputation feedback entries.
The numbers need context. Registering is cheap, and analysts have noted that registrations are not active agents, since test agents and hackathon demos count too. An identity proves who an agent is, not that it behaves well.
MemeToro treats identity as one layer, not the answer. Its published roadmap includes ERC-8004 agent identity and reputation integration, which would let the agent’s launch history be checked in one place. That is a plan, not a shipped feature.
Keeping the AI agent on a short leash
The core rule in the repository is that the agent proposes and transparent contracts execute. In MemeToro’s design the AI does not hold funds. This is where the project is trying to limit what a model can get wrong.
Contributor money is meant to sit in an escrow contract, not a team wallet or an AI-controlled one. Every proposal comes with a launch manifest committed to a digest, so the published terms can be compared with what the contract enforces. The draft design includes an exit window that blocks finalization while contributors can still leave. Funding rounds are fixed-rate, so every contributor pays the same price, and the design includes no pre-allocation or insider access. The agent is also built to publish nothing when it finds no suitable idea, which is the opposite incentive from a bot paid on volume.
What MemeToro has built and what is pending
The project is open about the distance between design and delivery. The AI agent page is marked coming soon. The GitHub README describes an early foundation and architecture stage and says the contracts are not implemented, audited or production-ready. The team is pseudonymous, so accountability has to come from the work: the code is public under an MIT license, with contribution and security-reporting guidelines, and the roadmap names the next steps in order, from a versioned manifest schema to fair-launch contracts tested on the BNB testnet, then independent security reviews before any production use. Each milestone that ships in public can be checked against the repository.
What can be checked today is the token. The $MT contract has been audited by Coinsult, SolidProof and BlockSAFU. The tokenomics allocate 71% of the 1.2 billion supply to the public sale and 2% to the team. A BNB testnet round using tBNB, a test token without value, is open.
Stage 9 and what to watch
The $MT presale is at Stage 9 at $0.00649, with the next stage opening at a higher price. The contract on BNB Smart Chain is 0x44412181b7eb66bff974c0a9a9e908e5bba8cfff. The tests for the agent are simple: published audit reports for the launch contracts, a testnet launch anyone can run, and a first full launch whose terms match its manifest and whose reasoning was on record beforehand. Until then, it is a design to evaluate.
